In order to continue promoting regional and national scientific and technological development, the Santo Toribio de Mogrovejo Catholic University (USAT) organizes and will host the II International Congress on Education and Technology in Sciences - CISETC 2021, will will feature renowned speakers, researchers and scientists from Chile, Argentina, Spain, USA, China, among others.The event will be from November 16 to 18, 2021, and has two thematic axes: pedagogical practice in science and the complementary aspects of its teaching.
The council will be chaired by Dr. Emma Margarita Wong Fajardo, vice-rector of research of the USAT, who will assume the challenge of the organization together with the members of the directive, local and scientific committee, who promote this initiative that takes place every two years.
Among the speakers, Sandra Cano, from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Valparaiso (Chile), Agustin Aduriz Bravo, from the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina), Siu Cheung Kong, from the University of Hong Kong (China); and Ileana Maria Greca, front he University of Burgos (Spain).
In its second edition, the CISETC is organized by the USAT under the sponsorship of the CeFIEC Research Institute, Roet and SIEP. In addition, it has allied entities such as the University of Buenos Aires, Rovira i Virgili University, Innova University.
The activity is aimed at researchers, teachers, students, decision-makers and people who actively work in the field of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), specifically, in the areas of Education and Technology, to strengthen their capacities, abilities, and knowledge on the subject.
The target audience of the international congress also includes professionals, government authorities (national, regional and local), representatives of organizations linked to STEM, actors from the public and private sector, professional and business associations and researchers from universities and schools.
The CISETC will address different topics, which are basically based on two main thematic axes: pedagogical practice in science and the complementary aspects of its teaching.
The first one seeks to respond to the global contexts in which science and technology are immersed. Therefore, it touches on different contents such as knowledge, the organization of learning, methodological strategies, evaluation and the classroom climate.
Likewise, the second thematic axis of this international congress considers the ideal and necessary complementary elements that allow success in the achievement of learning, and, in this way, favors the development of research skills at various educational levels.
Also, in this edition, researchers from the academic and professional community will be able to send their articles (full or short paper). Which will be evaluated by a high level International Scientific Commission. The authors of the selected papers will be part of the conference panelists and may publish their research in databases.
The CISETC is a scientific and academic space that seeks to socialize the best teaching practices of Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Statistics, aligned with the worldwide STEM approach (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and the use of technologies for the achievement of learning.
The steering committee is made up of Kilnge Villalba-Condori (Universidad Catolica de Santa Maria); Agustin Aduriz-Bravo (University of Buenos Aires); Arman Yadav (Michigan State University), Lung- Hsiang Wong (Technological Universityof Singapore), and Jari Lavonen (University of Helsinki).
Likewise, the local committee is made up of Rosse Maria Esperanza Huamanchumo, Carla Gamarra Flores, Mery Mendoza Rodas and Kimena Campodónico Bustios, front he Santo Toribio de Mogrovejo Catholic University (USAT); and Lilly LePelch, from George Mason University, VA, in the United States.
On the other hand, the scientific committee comprises more than 100 researchers from different countries such as Argentina, Spain, Mexico, Colombia, the United States, Venezuela, Peru, Finland, Canada, Brazil, Portugal, Greece, the United Kingdom, Italy, Taiwan, Germany, Holland, Ecuador, Chile, Korea, Estonia, Singapore, France, Romania, Cuba, among others.
The first edition of the congress was in charge of the Santa Maria de Arequipa Catholic University.
